About This Resource

By the end of the day, every sound feels too loud. The whining, the toys, the questions, someone always touching you. You can feel yourself getting snippy, wanting to cover your ears or just leave the room, and then the guilt arrives for snapping at the people you love.

This is overstimulation. When your senses take in more than your brain can process, your nervous system shifts into a stress response, and motherhood pours in a constant stream of sensory input with very few breaks. It is not that you are too sensitive, or not cut out for this. It is that you are carrying the noise, the touch, and the invisible load all at once, usually without a pause.

In this workshop, Erica Djossa and Dr. Ashurina Ream explain what is actually happening in your body when you feel overstimulated, and give you practical ways to lower the volume, both by adjusting your environment and by calming your nervous system in the moment.

You are allowed to need quiet. You can learn to catch the early signs and care for yourself before you reach your limit.
