OUR GUEST

Jessica VanderWier
Psychotherapist

Jess is a mother, wife, registered psychotherapist, and runs Our Mama Village. As an undergrad student, Jess studied Adult Development, Families and Well-being. It became clear early on that she would spend my life dedicated to working with parents and families. She then completed a master’s degree and thousands of clinical hours supporting parents and their children. She has worked in family homes one-on-one with parents, showing them new ways they could help their kiddos and restore peace. She also has worked with hundreds of parents through groups, presentations, and one-on-one clinical sessions.

Jess has seen the struggles families face, and know the realities of parenting children with BIG feelings.  The tools she teaches are practical, research-based, and effective in supporting your child’s emotional health and calming challenging behaviour.

Jess has an online course where she teaches you how to navigate your child's big feelings and big behaviour! She is so excited to be sharing just a small piece of the course in the podcast episode today!

Update March 2023: Our Mama Village is now Nurtured First! Check Jess out on Instagram @nurturedfirst, and check out her new website here: nurturedfirst.com. Together, let's create a generation of children, parents, and caregivers who are nurtured first.
