About Matea Kosar

Matea Kosar is a warm and compassionate Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist dedicated to supporting mothers and individuals through life's most sensitive and challenging times. She offers a safe and non-judgmental space to explore experiences that may hinder feelings of groundedness, wholeness, and well-being.

Holding a specialization in Women’s Reproductive Mental Health and advanced training in Perinatal Loss and Mental Health, Matea brings both professional expertise and significant life experience to her work. As a single mother with early experiences shaped by war, she possesses a deep understanding of the complexities of motherhood, trauma, and resilience. Her integrative and client-centered approach draws on attachment theory and incorporates various therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, mindfulness, narrative, and solution-focused therapies, all aimed at fostering calm, clarity, and healing.

The Personal

What's a small joy that never fails to make you smile? When my kiddo asks for the millionth time if we can have a caterpillar as a pet—honestly, it's endlessly adorable.

What's your go-to comfort show, podcast, or book? Friends. The characters feel like extended family. Bonus points if there's tea and a blanket involved.

What's a parenting mantra or quote you love? "Good enough is perfect." And on tough days: "This too shall pass", preferably with chocolate.

What's one thing most people don't know about you? I once survived a war and now I can also survive assembling IKEA furniture without swearing. Growth!

If you had a whole afternoon to yourself, how would you spend it? Browsing a bookstore, sipping warm tea, and sitting in total silence—without anyone yelling "Mooooom!" every 3 minutes.
