About Marii-Heleen Motsmees

Marii is a Registered Psychologist with the Momwell team, dedicated to offering a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can safely explore emotions, deepen self-understanding, and gain tools to heal. She helps individuals rebuild confidence and create meaningful lives aligned with their values. Marii specializes in perinatal mental health, supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and the many transitions of parenthood, addressing overwhelming emotions, identity shifts, anxiety, depression, trauma, and body image concerns. She also works with parents to strengthen connection and develop compassionate strategies for navigating their children's emotions and behaviors.

Her therapeutic approach is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing primarily from TEAM-CBT, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). TEAM-CBT assists clients in transforming unhelpful thought patterns, EMDR helps process traumatic memories, and IFS offers a gentle way to foster self-compassion and heal internal conflict by working with different "parts" of the self.
